Professor Reza Razavi is Professor of Paediatric Cardiovascular Science Vice-President & Vice-Principal (Research) at King’s College London. and Director of Research at King’s Health Partners (KHP), leads the KHP Imaging and Biomedical Engineering Clinical Academic Group, and is a Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS trust.
Professor Razavi continues to be an active researcher, leading the Wellcome / EPSRC Centre for Medical Engineering. To date, he has substantial grant funding, has over 250 publications, and has developed multiple industrial partnerships to deliver technologies that move into clinical products. His research focusses on imaging and biomedical engineering related to cardiovascular disease. He specialises in cardiac MRI, congenital heart disease, and image guided intervention. His group was the first to perform MRI guided cardiac catheterisation and intervention in patients, and continues to use imaging, computational imaging, and modelling to develop new and transformative tools for patient care. He is a past Chair of the British Society for Cardiovascular MRI and actively participates in both national and international bodies in the field of cardiovascular imaging. This includes developing the curriculum for training doctors in this area, and organising national and international society meetings.
