Dr. Mahi Ashwath is a member of the inaugral cohort of the SCMR. She is the Past President of the Iowa Chapter of the ACC and is currently Clinical Professor in Internal Medicine and Radiology, Multimodality Imaging Director and Inaugural Reuben Jacobs Endowed Chair at University of Texas San Antonio. Prior to her current position, she was Clinical Professor in Internal Medicine and Radiology, Program Director for the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship and Director of Cardiac MRI at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.Dr. Ashwath started her medical training at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India and completed it with fellowships in Cardiology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and in Cardiac MRI at Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center in Durham, North Carolina. She is passionate about Cardiac Imaging, Cardio Oncology, Education, Leadership and Mentorship and encouraging diversity. She has presented and published extensively on these topics and is actively involved with the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance and American Society of Echo.
