Philipp C. Lurz, MD, PhD received his medical degree and medical doctor from the University of Leipzig, Germany. From 2006 to June 2009, he was a research fellow at the Heart Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital London, Centre for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging, under supervicion of Prof. Andrew M. Taylor, and received his PhD degree from the University College London in 2010.
At present, he is a consultant cardiologist at the Heart Center of the University of Leipzig, Germany. Working as an interventional cardiologist and in the field of CMR imaging, his research focuses on unravelling the pathophysiology structural heart disease and the impact of structural heart interventions, using both invasive as well as non-invasive techniques.
He has published > 100 papers and 12 book chapters and has given > 75 international talks as an invited speaker.
