Staff Scientist
National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health
Dr. Ahsan Javed is a staff scientist in the MR technology program at the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. He has over 12 years of experience developing techniques for improving diagnosis of disease using magnetic resonance imaging. He worked on the development of novel non-contrast myocardial perfusion imaging methods for monitoring and diagnosis of coronary artery disease for his PhD. dissertation. His work on myocardial perfusion imaging included technique development and validation of these techniques in both large and small animal models. His postdoctoral training was focused on the development of pulmonary imaging methods leveraging non-cartesian imaging, fast reconstruction techniques, and clinical translation. He has worked on both internal and external collaborations both during graduate school and during his postdoctoral training to enable translation of his work to clinical settings. Currently, he is actively collaboration with Siemens Healthcare, a medical device company, on translating pulmonary imaging techniques to the clinic.
