Dr. Jonathan Andrew Aun is the Chief Imaging Fellow in the Noninvasive Cardiovascular Imaging Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. A Major in the U.S. Air Force, he has served in uniform since 2007 and currently serves as a Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist and Clinical Cardiologist for the Air Force Medical Corps. He completed his cardiovascular diseases fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and was a clinical collaborator at the National Institutes of Health, focusing on MRI protocols and next-generation CT imaging.
Dr. Aun is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and a Writing Committee member for the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology’s PET MPI and Endocarditis Nuclear Cardiology Self-Assessment programs. In 2019, he was recognized as a high-performing medical officer by the Air Education and Training Command Surgeon General.
In his role on the American College of Cardiology’s Early Career Editorial Board, Dr. Aun leads initiatives that focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly highlighting the unique aspects of veteran care in cardiology. He also champions the contributions of veteran cardiologists from diverse backgrounds and the critical role of military cardiology in advancing healthcare for veterans and active-duty service members. Dr. Aun’s research interests include cardiorheumatology and the use of advanced imaging techniques, such as cardiac MRI and cardiac CT, to assess risk and guide patient management and clinical outcomes.
