Rosita Zakeri is a Consultant Cardiologist and Senior Clinical Lecturer in the School of Cardiovascular Medicine and Sciences, King's College London (UK). Her clinical practice includes heart failure and the full spectrum of adult cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Her main research interest is heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and she leads a specialist HFpEF clinical academic service at King’s College Hospital.
After completing internal medicine and cardiology training in the UK, Dr Zakeri obtained her PhD in biomedical sciences from the Mayo Clinic, USA, studying left atrial remodelling and atrial fibrillation in HFpEF. She is currently funded by an Advanced Fellowship from the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) to develop diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with atrial fibrillation and HFpEF.
Dr Zakeri is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and Heart Failure Association. She has served as a clinical expert for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and research committee member of the British Society for Heart Failure and British Cardiac Society. She currently serves on the ESC Heart Failure Association committees for HFpEF/HFmrEF and atrial disorders.
