Dr. Coelho-Filho is a cardiologist who specializes in heart failure and cardiovascular imaging. He obtained his medical degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas and advanced his expertise in cardiac MRI and CT at Instituto do Coração InCor—FMUSP. He completed a three-year research fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging at Brigham and Women's Hospital-Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Coelho-Filho holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health and a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Medicine from the State University of Campinas. He has authored over 130 articles on Cardiovascular Disease in high-impact journals, is involved in the editorial processes of two major medical journals, and reviews manuscripts for more than 20 journals. He is an associate editor at the Circulation CV Imaging Journal. Dr. Coelho-Filho participates in national and international scientific committees, including SOCESP, SBC, and SCMR, and leads research funded by CNPq and FAPESP. As an Associate Professor Doctor (MS5.1) at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Campinas (UNICAMP), he serves as the current Coordinator of the Discipline of Cardiology within the Department of Internal Medicine.
