Consultant Cardiologist

Dr Marina Hughes DPhil, FRACP is a consultant cardiologist in the UK, with special expertise and many years full-time experience in CMR for adults and children with congenital heart disease.
After training in paediatric cardiology in Australia, she has worked as Clinical Lead for CMR at Great Ormond St Hospital in London. There, she helped develop a leading service with high case-load, (>1000 patients with congenital disease per year, of all ages), published many clinical research papers and continually educated junior and senior trainees.
Dr Hughes is now establishing congenital CMR clinical services and teaching in centres outside London in Cambridgshire, in the UK. She is Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of East Anglia and has developed an online course in congenital CMR for general CMR trainees which has achieved international recognition.
