Dr. Frank Kober is an MR physicist and Director of Research at Centre de Résonance Magnétique Biologique et Médicale (CRMBM), Aix-Marseille University, Marseille, France. He specializes in MR sequence development and currently heads the cardiovascular MR team in his lab, which is affiliated with the French CNRS.
Frank graduated from the University of Würzburg, Germany and SUNY Albany, New York. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Joseph Fourier University of Grenoble, France in 1998 with research on hyperpolarized gas MRI. He was appointed at CNRS in 1999 after working as an MR Application Scientist for SMIS, Guilford, UK.
His own research focuses on non-contrast perfusion MRI methods (Arterial Spin Labeling), flow imaging as well as proton and phosphorus spectroscopy mainly for cardiovascular applications. Supported by several research grants mainly from the French ANR, he and his team have contributed original ASL methods dedicated to both rodent and human investigations. He co-authored 60+ peer-reviewed journal papers and several book chapters in the field of MR.
