Aremu Olukayode holds an MSc degree in Physiological Sciences, where he explored the antihypertensive and antioxidant properties of some medicinal plants in hypertension using different models, including SHRs and L-Name-induced hypertensive Wistar rats. Furthering, he is interested in characterising the phenotypes of inflammation, fibrosis, and remodeling in rheumatic heart disease, using cardiovascular magnetic resonance modality. More so, to fully understand the inflammatory pathway in the autoimmune involvement in the pathogenesis of RHD, he is exploring the contributions of autophagy biomarkers to RHD, being a causative factor of heart failure. This is to corroborate his keen interest to stop the existence of high mortality and debilitating conditions posed by RHD (..catch it early and stop the trend).
