Caroline M. Van De Heyning, MD, PhD, is consultant at the Department of Cardiology of the Antwerp University Hospital (Belgium) since 2013 and assistant professor at the University of Antwerp. She obtained a PhD in medical sciences in 2014. Her areas of expertise and research are valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy/myocarditis, stress and exercise echocardiography (fellowship University Hospital Liège with Prof L.Piérard and Prof P.Lancellotti, 2010-2011) and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (fellowship St-Thomas London with Dr A.Chiribiri, Dr T.Ismail and Prof S.Plein, 2016-2017). She is the co-director of the Belgian CMR Level 1 course. She is the secretary of the Belgian Working Group of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging and member of the EACVI Web & Communication Committee and Certification in CMR committee.
