Dr. Sujata M. Shanbhag is a graduate of the St. Louis University School of Medicine. She subsequently completed her Internal Medicine training at Indiana University School of Medicine and General Cardiology training at Rush University Hospital in Chicago, IL. In 2007, she joined the advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship within the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where she completing imaging fellowship in both Cardiovascular MRI and CT and completed a Masters in Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. After completing her training, Dr. Shanbhag has joined the faculty at NIH as a Staff Cardiologist where she helps maintain a busy clinical CMR and CT practice, which she balances with her research interests which include translating newer CMR and CT methods into clincal practice and outcomes research. She has a specific interest in the diagnosis, management of non-ischemic cardiomyopathies, myocardial ischemia and infarction, as well as, evaluating rare disease phenotypes using combined imaging techniques in CMR and CT.
