Dean's Professor

Krishna Nayak is Dean’s Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California. He directs the Magnetic Resonance Engineering Laboratory (http://mrel.usc.edu/) and the Dynamic Imaging Science Center (http://disc.usc.edu/). He is a Fellow of the IEEE, SCMR, and AIMBE, and has published >150 journal papers, >450 conference papers, and >10 US patents. His expertise is in development and clinical translation of software-based MRI technology, including pulse sequences, data sampling and reconstruction, and artifact mitigation. His current projects include high-performance mid-field MRI, imaging around metallic implants, novel applications of real-time MRI, cardio-pulmonary imaging, and the use of sparse sampling to produce more precise imaging biomarkers.
