Dr John-Paul Carpenter MD(Res) FRCP FESC FSCMR is Clinical Lead for Cardiology at Poole Hospital, University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, UK. He is a cardiologist with a specific interest in cardiovascular imaging including echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiovascular MR. He is certified in all three modalities with Level 3 certification in CMR and Cardiac CT. He took up his current post in 2013 after training at the Royal Brompton Hospital and National Heart and Lung Institute in London and the Wessex Cardiothoracic Centre in Southampton. He is Examination Board Chair for EACVI (Section CMR), is EACVI Vice-Chair for Certification and is a founding board member of the British Cardio-Oncology Society. He is closely involved with the reconfiguration of local healthcare services, combining expertise across three hospital sites to provide a single, comprehensive cardiovascular centre of excellence for Dorset.
