Marco S. Nobile is Associate Professor of Computer Science with the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy. Dr. Nobile obtained the PhD in computer science from the University of Milano-Bicocca. His main research area is computational intelligence applied to biomedical problems. In particular, he worked on the modeling and analysis of complex biological systems, and on the development of novel interpretable AI systems for clinical decision support. He developed AI methods, both supervised and unsupervised, for medical image analysis, proteomics, and digital pathology. He published more than 100 papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He twice won the best paper award at the IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (in 2019 and 2022). In 2022, he also received the best abstract award at the 63th Congress of the Italian Cardiology Society. He is senior member of IEEE, member of the IEEE Bioinformatics and Bioengineering Task Force, and belongs to the Bicocca Bioinformatics, Biostatistics and Bioengineering research center. He is currently the Rector’s delegate for digital innovation in research.
