Ramesh Valapil is the Imaging Clinical Research Facility Manager and Service Manager for Cardiovascular MRI (CMR) at King’s College London (KCL) and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust Hospital. With over 20 years of expertise in radiography and clinical research imaging services, Ramesh has led transformative growth in CMR, tripling capacity at KCL through a “grow your own and retain” training model that has cultivated a highly skilled radiography team.
Ramesh holds a BSc in Radiography from Father Muller Medical College, India, a postgraduate certificate in MRI, and an MBA from Aston Business School, UK. His diverse career includes international roles as an MRI radiographer and educator in India and Kuwait and as Lead CMR Radiographer at Wolverhampton and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals in London.
An active member of the SCMR Membership and Education Committees, Ramesh has contributed to internationally accredited SCMR Level 1 training materials and delivered lectures worldwide. Recently, he co-directed a highly successful two-day CMR course for Radiographers and Technologists at KCL, where delegates received complimentary SCMR memberships as part of their training.
