I have been cardiology faculty at Heart Institute since 1999, currently working on cardiovascular MRI and CT Sector at Heart Institute (InCor), University of São Paulo Medical School, São Paulo, Brazil, Coordinator of the CMR and CCT fellowship program at Heart Institute (InCor) University of São Paulo Medical School, and collaborating Professor of the Cardiopneumology Department of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). I am also the director of the Cardiovascular MR and CT sector of Heart Hospital (HCOR), São Paulo, SP.
I am currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) as Secretary-Treasurer and immediate past president (2019-2020) for Cardiovascular MR of the Cardiac Imaging Department of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology.
I am an experienced clinical cardiologist with an emphasis on cardiovascular MRI and CT. I am also an experienced clinical and basic researcher, with extensive knowledge of MR and CT equipment technology. I have mentored 21 medical professionals who finished their PhD program. I have obtained several FAPESP (Grant Research Agency for São Paulo State) grants as an investigator or co-investigator. I am also the Editor-in-Chief of Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia (ABC Cardiol) and on the editorial board of Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging. I also review for many scientific journals Circulation, JACC CV Imaging, Radiology, JCMR, and JCCT. I am also a reviewer for the 2 most important grant agencies in Brazil, FAPESP (State) and CNPq (Federal). I have been listed fro many years among the top-cited scientists (Ioannidis JPA) I was the PI for Heart Institute (InCor) at several international clinical trials, including Core320 and Core64 trials. During both trials, Heart Institute was the site that included the highest number of patients. Our strategies and connections within the Heart Institute facilitate inclusion and the follow-up of the patients.
