Consultant in Fetal Cardiology

Dr David F A Lloyd MBChB, MRCPCH, PhD is a Consultant in Paediatric and Fetal Cardiology at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and Senior Lecturer at School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences, King’s College London. In 2015 he led the validation and clinical translation of novel motion-corrected 3D fetal cardiac MRI methods. This work was published in the Lancet in 2019 and in turn to the delivery of one of the world’s first clinical fetal cardiac MRI centres at St Thomas’ Hospital, London, UK, in 2020 which he now co-administrates. He was recently awarded a £1.3million Intermediate Clinical Research Fellowship from the British Heart Foundation to explore the relationship between the placental function, left sided congenital heart disease (particularly coarctation of the aorta), and long-term cardiovascular health.
